Start with the next
useful step.

Practical setup guides for the current projects. Begin with the essentials, check the published page and keep the limits in view.

Before you start

A small checklist.
A clear first run.

BriefGo 1.0.1 requires WordPress 6.3+, PHP 8.2+ and a single-site installation. You need administrator access and the intended business WhatsApp number with its country code.

Keep a copy of a page before adding a new card. Use a test site to check changes when possible, then check the real published page on both a phone and a computer.

The website demo is a text preview only. The installed plugin uses the recipient configured by the website owner.

Install the ZIP.

Download 1.0.1

BriefGo is distributed directly as a ZIP and is not currently listed in the WordPress Plugin Directory. Download the package from this site and upload it as a normal plugin.

Keep the ZIP intact. You do not need to extract it before uploading.

SHA-256 checksum file
  1. Open the plugin uploader

In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

  2. Select the package

Choose briefgo-1.0.1.zip and click Install Now.

  3. Activate BriefGo

After installation, click Activate. Open Settings → BriefGo to complete configuration.

Your work number.
Your service list.

Enter the WhatsApp number of the business recipient: the owner, administrator or manager who should receive enquiries.

This is one recipient for every service and every BriefGo card. Visitors send from their own account and do not enter their phone number in the card.

A correctly formatted number does not prove that the number has a WhatsApp account. Use the test link and confirm the actual recipient before making the card public.

  1. Enter the country code

Open Settings → BriefGo and enter the complete business number, including its country code.

  2. Add the services

Set up to 20 services. Each service name supports up to 80 characters. Review the heading, greeting and button colour.

  3. Save, then test

Save the settings and use the recipient test link. Check that WhatsApp opens the intended business account.

  4. Clear cached pages

Clear page and CDN caches after changing the number, greeting or services.

Place the card.
Check the handoff.

Add [briefgo] in a Shortcode block or the Classic Editor on the page where visitors should begin an enquiry.

Several cards on the same page work independently, while using the shared business configuration.

Check the published page

  • The intended services appear.
  • The message preview reflects the selected service and optional details.
  • The displayed recipient is the business number you configured.
  • The copy action works, or the preview can be selected and copied manually.
  • WhatsApp opens the right recipient with the expected text.
  • The page works on a phone and a computer.

Preferred time is a request to discuss, not a reservation. BriefGo does not confirm message sending or delivery.

Update, pause
or remove.

Updating

Keep the previous ZIP and a record of your settings. Test the new release before updating the live site, then clear caches and repeat the recipient and message checks.

Until a directory listing is available, install new releases from their verified ZIP. BriefGo has no external updater.

Deactivating

Deactivation keeps BriefGo’s settings. You can activate it again without intentionally deleting the business configuration.

Review pages containing [briefgo]; an inactive shortcode may appear as text.

Deleting

Explicit deletion through WordPress removes BriefGo’s own briefgo_settings option.

Remove [briefgo] from pages when you stop using the plugin. Keep your previous ZIP and settings before replacing a release.

When something
does not look right.

My changed number or services are not visible.

Confirm that settings were saved, then clear the page cache and any CDN cache. Open the published page again and check its displayed recipient and service list.

WhatsApp does not open, or the link is too long.

Shorten the note and try again. BriefGo uses a conservative 6,000-character encoded-link guard; this is its own limit, not a universal WhatsApp maximum.

If the app or web version still does not open, copy the preview and write to the displayed business number manually. Check the recipient before sending.

The copy button cannot use the clipboard.

Clipboard access depends on the browser. The preview is selectable: select the text and use the browser’s normal copy action.

The form is not available without JavaScript.

The installed plugin provides a direct WhatsApp contact link when JavaScript is unavailable. This website’s demo requires JavaScript for its live text preview.

Can I use it on Multisite?

Version 1.0.1 supports single-site WordPress installations only. Multisite activation is intentionally unavailable.

I cannot confirm whether a message arrived.

BriefGo cannot confirm sending or delivery. Opening WhatsApp prepares the next step; the visitor must send the message in WhatsApp, where the business handles the conversation.

Release notes

BriefGo 1.0.1.

Prepared the package for WordPress.org distribution with standard WordPress updates and Coocadev author metadata.

The existing settings and service-request workflow are preserved. The plugin is available as a direct ZIP; a directory listing is not currently available.

Version 1.0.0 was the initial private release, with settings, the request card, preview, WhatsApp handoff, copying, translations and explicit uninstall cleanup.
