Getting started
The business number comes from the website owner. Visitors do not need to enter their phone number.
Read the full setup guideWordPress → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Upload briefgo-1.0.1.zip and activate BriefGo.
Open Settings → BriefGo. Enter the recipient’s WhatsApp number with its country code, add services, save and test the actual recipient.
[briefgo]Use a Shortcode block or the Classic Editor on the page where enquiries should begin.
Clear the page/CDN cache. Test the preview, copy action and recipient on both a phone and a computer.
Version 1.0.1 scope
Preferred time is text for the business to discuss. BriefGo does not provide a booking calendar, payments, a request inbox or delivery tracking.
Single-site WordPress only. Service names support up to 80 characters, preferred time up to 120 Unicode characters and notes up to 300. Its 6,000-character encoded-link guard is a plugin limit, not a universal WhatsApp limit.
If a link is too long or cannot open, shorten the note or copy the preview into WhatsApp manually. Opening WhatsApp does not confirm that a message was sent or delivered.
Understand the handoff
BriefGo prepares the visitor’s request in their browser. It does not save requests in WordPress, add cookies or Web Storage, or send requests to a BriefGo server.
When the visitor opens WhatsApp, the configured recipient number and prepared text are passed through a wa.me URL. The text may appear in browser history before any message is sent.
WhatsApp handles the conversation under its own terms and privacy policy. Other plugins, browsers and hosting services can process data independently.
Read the data explanationCommon questions
The website owner enters the business recipient’s number in Settings → BriefGo. All cards use this number. The visitor sends from their own WhatsApp account.
No. It is a preference written by the visitor. The business confirms availability in the WhatsApp conversation.
Keep the previous ZIP and settings, test updates first and clear caches afterward. Deactivation keeps settings; deleting the plugin through WordPress removes its own settings option. Remove [briefgo] from your pages when you stop using it.
Not currently. This release is available as a direct ZIP. A directory listing and its support forum will be linked when available.
